CAT-6

6类双绞线（英文：Category 6 cable），一般称为CAT-6线，是在千兆以太网以及其它CAT-5／CAT-3向下兼容网络上所使用到的传输线材标准。相比起CAT-5缆线，CAT-6缆线加强了对抗串扰及系统噪声的防护。而在规格上，它的信号传输频率高达250MHz，适合用于10BASE-T、100BASE-TX及1000BASE-T等各种以太网发送标准。在短距离内，CAT-6甚至可用作架构万兆以太网（10GBASE-T）。

与部分TIA标准的线材同是以四对双绞线组成，而根据ANSI/TIA-568-B.2-1内的标准，CAT-6线的线径可由22AWG至24AWG，比CAT-5线的规格更有弹性。

Category 6A

为增强双绞线的传输能力，TIA于2018年9月发表的ANSI/TIA-568.2-D中，列明Cat.6A（或称Augmented Category 6，而Augmented是指增强）的传输频率可高达500 MHz，是Cat.6线的两倍。并且在100米内，提供10GBASE-T的万兆以太网。
